The ancient Roman amphitheatre of Tivoli, also known as the Bleso Amphitheatre, dates from the second century of the imperial age. It could accommodate up to 2,000 spectators. According to some researchers, close to this extraordinary testimony of the magnificence of Rome, there was also the Schola Gladiatorum, but there are no traces of it.

The Mausoleum of Plauzi, together with the Lucano Bridge, formed the access to the ancient Tibur Superbum. It is one of the most important archaeological sites of Tivoli.
