The Shrine of Our Lady of Quintiliolo is located just outside the historic centre of Tivoli, on a hill surrounded by olive trees. The name Quintiliolo derives from the territory owned by the Quintili family. Their villa once stood here and the church and then the convent were built on the site.
Saint Mary Major's Church, also known as Saint Francis' Church, is considered one of the most beautiful places of worship in the city. Built around the 12th century, it contains the tomb of Ippolito D'Este.
