Saint Lawrence's Cathedral, also known as Tivoli Cathedral, is the most representative place of worship of the town. It is located in Saint Lawrence's square and was built around 1635, although its origins go back to the 6th century AD.
The sanctuary of Quintiliolo is outside Tivoli's historic center and houses the sacred image of the Virgin Mary of Quintiliolo, a still worshipped religious icon dating back to the 13th century.
The Church of San Biagio is located in the central Piazza del Plebiscito. Built in the late 14th century, it contains a fine fresco of the Crucifixion dating back to 1200.
The Church of Saint Peter of Charity, in the old city, features a brick facade and a beautiful bell tower. Inside, the fifteenth-century Virgin Mary Enthroned with Saints Peter and Paul at her sides can be seen.
Saint Sylvester's Church was built in the 12th century. It is located in Piazza San Silvestro, the very heart of Tivoli's historic center, right between the Gothic House and Saint Lawrence's Cathedral.
Saint Mary Major's Church, also known as Saint Francis' Church, is considered one of the most beautiful places of worship in the city. Built around the 12th century, it contains the tomb of Ippolito D'Este.
